I have never been a huge fan of Lee molds, but my newest 6 cavity is superb. After I got it the other day, I scrubbed it with real hot water, Dawn, and a toothbrush. Once things warmed up, the bullets literally jumped out of the cavities. All 6 bullets were within .6 grain of each other.

The mold is the .358 158 grain RNFP.

Only one strange thing. The bottom of the sprue plate has a cross hatch pattern which you can actually see on the base of the bullet. Looks like honing marks, very even and consistent. These marks obviously causes some build up on the bottom of the plate. Has anyone else seen this on the newer Lee molds?

If the sprue plate is defective, I will buy a new one. No way am I sending the mold back to Lee to let them fool with it.

A good one indeed. Probably my favorite 38 caliber design. I have a two cavity but, shoot enough of them that I should probably get a six cavity.
