I was looking in all the loading manuals I have collected over the years and I don't see any loading data for the 160g wad cutter. Anyone out there that can help me find it, I would appreciate it.-seabat0603

I have that same mould and use the loads for the 358156 or 358311 158gr. That is a good boolit for all types of shooting, makes a big round hole in anything. However, I use the 148gr for light target just to save some lead.

I use loads for standard 158 grain semiwadcutters in .38 Special. The powder volume inside the case is about the same when seated to the crimping groove. They don't go in flush as many wadcutters do.

I'll either use winchester 231 or bullseye

seabat, these are out of lyman cast handbook for 231 in 38spl 3.4gr to start 4.6 max
bullseye in 38 spl 3.0 to start 4.2 max both using 162gr cast boolt. I like 5gr of unique with 358311 I've got an extra alliant load book the ones they give out give me an adress if you want and I'll mail it.

The mould is discontinued and starting to get a following. I had to watch auctions, etc to find a two cavity. There was talk of a group buy, but I haven't heard anything about it lately.

The late Jim Cirrillo, of NYPD Stake Out Team fame, favored this boolit in a S&W for "social purposes." He was quoted (Very Politically Incorrectly now!) to the effect that "applying 160 grain wadcutters would cease hostilities."

I haven't cast any of these yet...got the mould and a H&G 50 about the same time and then weather became too cold to cast outside. Getting the group buy mould for LYMAN 429352 wadcutter clone kinda distracted me too...it really makes a BIG hole in the targets!
