311041 pt 311672 for hunting

I have read several places that the 311672 was developed specifically for the 308 which is what I hunt with. I'm considering it for deer instead of or in addition to the 041 because it' a little lighter and my rifle is a lightweight. And it should fit better in the short 308 neck. Anybody got any experience with it?

I have used both the 311672 and the 311414 in my .300 Savage Model 99 with very good accuracy. The 10 or so grain weight difference is negligable to me. Might be worth trying as the .308 is very similar in shape to the .300 Savage.
