How many CB is reasonable from 1 stick of lube? I have sized and lubed approximately 2500 CB's from 1 stick so far and was wondering if this sounds right. I am lubing single groove 9 and 45. Also how sticky is BAC lube after application? I had one stick of NRA 50/50 and wish I had never used it. The stuff is so sticky it makes a mess.

Weigh a bullet, then weigh it again after putting on the lube.
The difference is the weight of the lube.
Divide that into the weight of a full stick.

Big blts with big grooves take a lot of lube, little blts with little grooves take a little lube. I keep one lubesizer for strictly .224's, and seems like it takes years to run out of lube. When I am lubing big 457's seems like about one real good casting session with them or with Kieth type 44's will empty a tube of lube pretty quick. Montana Charlie is right, if you want to go that far, but seems like kind of a waste of time to me.

BAC is sticky but I do not mind. It leaves my bores nice and shiny with no leading :drinks:

Thanks for the info it sounds like I am on track with the number per stick of lube. Putteral how is the stickiness of the BAC compared to NRA 50/50? If it is pretty much the same I may change my lube choice.

It is about the same they just added some carnuba wax to it so it gives it a slightly reddish color, hence the name BAC.

^^^ so if the "C" stands for carnuba, what does the "B" and the "A" stand for?

Bees wax + Alox + Carnauba = BAC White Label Lube sells it

If you want the make your lube a little less sticky, you can do what I do. Melt a stick of BAC then cut a 3/8" thick slice off a stick of Lar's carnuba Red and melt that in with the BAC, pour it in your lubersizer. It makes the lube less sticky.

The red color is dye, and has nothing to do with the carnuba wax which is yellow.

Depends on the bullet. For a big 45/70 bullet, one lube stick won't go far at all. For .32 auto single groove bullets, one stick would last years.

I find I have to add more every 6 months or so, casting once every 2 weeks.
