When we had our trailer in the poconos, my mother in law and her mother were sitting in the screened in porch area enjoying the weather. Well they noticed this little black thing flying around the porch where they were. I was outside and my mother in law asked me what it was. "Thats a bat" was the reply. Well you never saw two women jump up and start yelling and carrying on. Thought the roofwas going to come off. My father in law calmly swatted said bat with a broom. So every day for at least a week my mother in law would be greeted by "Thats a Bat."Heck at least I thought it was funny. Frank

I got startled by a bat just last week. It was shortly before dawn and I was sitting on the porch putting on my ugly rubber & oil coated work shoes when a small bat swooped in to snatch a circling bug from around the porch light. Gave me a quick wake up call, for certain.

Spilled my coffee, too.

Bats eat bugs. Bats good. Bugs bad. Thats the message I give to my MIL who had a bat land on her last summer. No bite, nothing. Someone convinced her to get the rabies shots. Some people just live from one crisis to the next.
