I am getting ready to order some of the gator checks for a .41 gc mould. The shank on my mould measures .3950. The 416 rifle checks measure .3925 or just a smidge small. The .430 checks are for shanks .4000 or more than a smidge large.

Any suggestions?

I have 15 rounds loaded with Hornady .44 checks, but won't get to the range until Feb.

I should be able to open the mouths of the check with a ball bearing, but being naturally lazy, I hate extra steps.

Last resort, besides the ball bearing trick, is to have a sizing die plugged up to act as a swage, to size down the shank just a smite. I have thought of this several times. Would require a spare, smaller die to be honed out at the mouth and then plugged for depth restriction. ... felix
