Here is the group buy for a 6 Cavity Lee mold with out handles for the Ideal Lyman 454190 original 45 colt bullet.
Please see these supporting threads.
http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=44367
http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=29012
Bullet spec is .455 diameter, approximate weight 255 GR. It is the older Ideal design with square lube grooves.
Price is $65.00 shipped. Price reflects 25 molds and includes a free mold to our boolit designer Tom Myers.
Shipping discount of $4.00 per mold for each additional mold. When sending in your payment, first mold will be $65.00, each additional mold will be $61.00. International buyers welcome, but please PM me for shipping cost to your location.
Please understand that Lee is now quoting 8-12 months for delivery. I know it’s a long wait, but I think it will be worth it.
I’m going to keep this buy open until we reach 25 molds. If we get close by the end of March, I will call last call. Figure on sending your payments in about the middle of March.
Please use the group buy login http://groupbuys.dnsalias.com to place your order. Print your invoice and mail it with your money order.

The drawing shows 255 gr wt with Lyman #2, about what will it weigh when cast from WW?
Lyman #2 alloy has a specific gravity of 10.683.
Wheel Wt. alloy has a specific gravity of 11.010.
11.010 / 10.683 = 1.0306.
255 gr X 1.0306 = 262.8 gr.
Hope this helps.

OK....after much thought, I am in for one. I just hate the 8+ month wait. Well it should be here by next fall or early winter so I'll jump in. I have a single Ideal of this boolit and with 3 45 LC revolvers, it just takes to long to get a pile of boolits.

Thanks badgeredd, I know we all don't like the 8+ months wait, but I'm willing to be patient as I think it will be well worth the wait. I personally like Lee six cavity molds. Use them with bullplate lube, and you can pile up a bunch of boolits fast.
The good news is we now have orders for 21 molds! Only 4 to go to meet the needed 25.

My payment for 1 mould went in the mail yesterday.:-D
And I just heard that my M25-5 is in the process of being fitted with a new cylinder with throats a LOT closer to the correct diameter than the $**t S&W shipped in the first place (.457 and .458).
My only complaint is that the new cylinder isn't the rebated rim model like mine, but the new CHEAPER, shorter style.
Oh how I have hated to see the deterioration of quality from them over the last many years.

Indeed, I know how you feel. And it's that much worse for the honcho, having to hold everyone's money and trying to keep track of everything for over a year is not very fun. And since casting and shooting is supposed to be fun, it kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

Please know I in no way am trying to hassle you about this buy. I knew going in that it'd be a long wait. I think that now we have other vendors available it just magnifies the problem with Lee group buys. I''m glad you are honchoing the buy as it is indeed a good boolit to have a multi-cavity mold for. As to Lee's performance, we all can only hope they get it right enough to be usable. If not you CANNOT be held responsible. That's life as they say.
