How do you guys use the benchrest squares, and particularly the one with the square bullseye with the square in the upper part of the bullseye?

I usually use a corner and line up my reticles on the sides of the square.

How do you do it?

Thanks,

That is the way it is done, Crabo. If you have a target dot (1/8), use that in the center of the bull instead. Most folks on the line do Kentuk windage, and not move the crosshairs. Always make the impact an inch away or more from your aiming point so as not to destroy the resolution of the aim point. ... felix

This target on scale, has a 10 ring about 3/8 ths inch. I use 36x scope with an 1/8 dot. The dot sits exactly on the bottom of this ring. But this is in br shooting, and all the groups i ever shot in competition, i used the circle, and have never used the square.

Ive often wondered that this target was made back in the 60,s-early 70,s. Back then 20 power was high magnification. With a 20-24x scope, the black square makes a perfect aiming point, exactly quarter the white in the middle, and as conditions warrent, you can hold up to about .250 inch off, accurately. With the 36,40,45 power scopes, the black square isnt used,IMO.

All true, mainiac. Crabo is using a hunting scope, no doubt by his question. ... felix
