First question- Why isn't this forum required to post a a warning label- CASTING BULLETS IS LIKELY TO BE ADDICTIVE ? Seems only right...

second question- I have enroute from Midway a RCBS 270 grain 454 mould for my Bisely. What size should I size those to to begin with?
Thanks
(Now going to go look for more stuff to sell/trade for casting equipment- thanks a lot, forum) LOL

Royce - Welcome and you are correct with your first question...LOL

The only way you will know the proper size for your Bisley is to "slug" the barrel and throat with soft lead and measure it. I believe there is a thread here that explains how to do it if you have never done it before.

Enjoy yourself, casting is a whole lot of fun and shooting your own cast boolits is fun too!

Royce - slugging the barrel is the best way. But if you want a shortcut- you did not say what kind of Bisley. If it is a Ruger- 95% chance it will take .452, same for Uberti/Itilian clones. If it is an old original Colt- then a .454.

Its a Ruger- Sorry, should have said that to begin with.
