About any solvent should. I get it on the stove, scrape off the worst with a stick and wash with acetone or Coleman fuel.

Acetone actually is too volatile. So are the other solvents, but they work better provided they don' t evaporate before the work is done. Soooooo, use olive oil to loosen the beeswax to pick up with paper towel, and then use acetone, or another solvent, to clean up the olive oil. Other oils will work, some better, some not as well. Olive oil is just an arms away for me. ... felix

ditto crabo. Heat gun/hair drier to get thick stuff and paper towels

Xylene will.

It will also dissolve the finish of anything that you are trying to remove it from.

Not much will break beeswax down. Best to get it real cold, flake off what you can then use heat to lift the rest off. Lay a clean soft cotton cloth down and apply heat using an iron....The cloth will hopefully soak it up.
Beeswax will splatter onto anything you don't want it to. Clean new cloths never to be worn again unless you want everybody to think the cat puked on your pants. Leather boots- heat and wipe off with a soft cloth, water proofed for life.

Xylene is a hot thinner Shiloh, If anyone uses it be warned. It's used as a thinner for epoxy base paints and is in the class with Xylol and MEK. I think it's the ingredient in Goo Be Gone. It will remove many standard base enamel paints.

If practical, boil the objects and the wax is on the surface to be lifted off when the water cools.

IMHO Orange based cleaners truly shine for this purpose. Pure orange oil (limozene) sp or a product called DE-SOLV-IT are the best, and they be woman friendly for use in the house...win win;-)

If it is on a table or stove or something like that put a rag on it then your wife's iron. The iron will melt the wax, them wipe it up with the rag!
Most gun cleaning solvents will dissolve it.

If you can find something that will disolve beeswax and not ruin everything you will be a GAZZILIONEER. Beeswax is unique in it's structure.

Bee spit.

Tough to get the little buggers to sell a bottle of it though!

Turpentine. Turps and beeswax makes a good furniture polish.

Plain old rubbing (Isopropel) alchohol will help with the beeswax cleanup.

If you guys are able to melt away bees wax with any of the above remidies you must not be buying quality from Randy.

I have tried about everything (except xylene)to remove it and can't seem to make my wife happy[smilie=1:

Good luck... I love the sweet smell of soft gold but SWMBO can't stand it:mrgreen: especially when it gets all over her oven.:drinks::Fire:
