Anybody use the Saeco #081 and how do you like it?

I use it. I have a Ruger #3 which I rebarreled with an 8mm brl and chambered with a SAMI 32 Special reamer. The thinking was the oversize bullet in the 32 special case would fill the neck and throat area of the chamber. Kinda a match chamber, but no special reamer. It seems to have worked fine. Shoots 5/8-3/4" groups all day long with a Lyman #2 alloy approximation. I use loads of 4227, 4759 or 5744. The 5744 actually shoots the best. I use a .322 sizer which really doesn't size, just puts on lube.
I did try this bullet without the gas checks and the bullets tipped at 100yds.

The Saeco boolit is one of the better commercial 8mm designs. I like the one I have, especially for the tighter throated military 8mm rifles. Lots of fun to shoot at a milk jug at 500 yds with.

I like it a lot. I use the in my 8x57 Husquarna 640 for running target.

I cast mine of wheelweights, size and gas check in a .324 opend Lee sizer, oven heat treat them to 34 bhn, lube in a .325 lyman die with ordinary RCBS rifle lube.

I load these over 45 grains of Norma 202 for a velocity of 2500 fps. Since the nose is a little oversized for my bore I dip the noses in dilluted Lee tumble lube and set the to dry for 24 houers
Accuracy is like FMJs, 1,5" @ 100 yards.

I have one. I could not seat it out far enough to get great accuracy in my old WWI Gew. 98 Mauser barrel. I did not try beagling the mould, as I rebarreled the rifle.
