I just sent of an order for some 540gr PP from Montana Bullet Works. I plan on launching them with smokeless from a C-Sharps 1874 with a 34" barrel. This is my fist venture into the world of PPs. I recently picked up a copy of "The Paper Patch" along with a taper crimp die. I normally use 3031 under non patched Oregon Trail 405s and 500s.
Is 3031 a good choice to start with or are there some better. I would like to keep the velocity around 1200-1400 fps. I eventually I plan to make my own if these work out.
