Hi,
What's a good lube for .30 cal rifle in my new RCBS lube-a-matic 2..speeds up to 1800 fps, and would I need a heater for it ?
Thanks,
Mike

I have been using Red Rooster Zambini lately on 8x56R cast bullets. I am pan lubing and shooting them unsized at an average velocity of 1864 fps and have not had a trace of leading. It is sold as a pistol lube, but is also good for rifle use. For your application, it would need a heater.

Lars 50/50 alox/beeswax lube is very good. It will do quite niely in your 4500 and needs no heater. It is good for velcities of 200 (maybe less) up to 2500 fps. Javelina, RCBS, Lyman and most other 50/50 alox/beeswax lubes work as well.
