Hi! I've been experimenting with a homemade brew of tumble lube using paraffin wax and synthetic bearing grease @ 50/50 ratio. When the mixture cools it gets really thick. I can still squeeze it out of the little plastic bottle I use, but it comes out a little chunky. I suppose I could still tumble boolits in it but I tried to thin it out with some baby oil and I think I used too much because after sitting on wax paper overnight the boolits felt oily. Is there a way that I can make my mixture flow better but also dry better? I'll be using it on my TL-312-160's. Is it ok just to blob out a chunk of the stuff and tumble that way?

I would try thinning it with something more volatile than baby oil. Mineral spirits, acetone, or some kind of alcohol, maybe.

I would go the mineral spirits route ...the acetone route made some pretty cool self hardening foam with beeswax on my experiment.

hmm anything that drys quicker than mineral spirits? like maybe naptha or lacqur thinner turpentine?

I would say it is chunky as the two are not mixing.

I dont have any mineral spirits but I do have some methanol. I'll try that next time. Thanks!
