WHen I recieved my mould I had a set of lyman single cavity mould handles that I thought would fit on my lyman devistator 44 mould. They didn't . I had a set of RCBS handles and tried them ,they fit. Is there going to be any long trem effect on the blocks using the RCBS handles.

If the RCBS handles don't fit snugly enough and the mould blocks rock or swivel on them when you go to close the blocks up for the next pour the alinement pins won't aline close enough and they will wear the holes that they go into larger. It takes a while for this alinement pin hole enlargement to occur but I have seen it on many blocks on ebay. I would say that is the biggest long term effect on using handles that don't fit properly. If you are careful you may not have any problems. I also keep the pins and holes lubed with Bullshop's Bullplate to reduce any wear I can. I always try to use the best fitting handles and am very careful to gently close them to reduce wear.
