View Full Version : tack driver .38spl!
I have an old rcbs 160gr swc 357 mould i got from my uncle.
It is GC and drops about 158, lubed and GC.
Alloy is ww.
in .38spl cases behind 3.2 Gr. Tightgroup and WSPP out of my .357 tauras tracker .357mag, it groups 1.25 to 1.5 inch groups at 12-15 Yrds. offhand.
Very stoked as it is my best load I made all on my own.
The best BOOLIT results I have had yet.
Hope this is helpful to someone.....

Welcome to Cast Boolits ! !
You can't beat the satisfaction of casting your own and shooting a nice tight group with your pistol !
Best to you,

It's a great feeling of acomplishment when you can actually get a decent group from a round that you made yourself. Good job.

Welcome to the gang.
I have a lee mold that I shoot in .38 that's on balls too. The old detectives had it right, the .38 is accurate.

With a handle like Waco you should be from Texas!

[smilie=s: - I have a 38 heavy load that is a tack driver - found it in a old loading manual as a +P+ load - even on a bad day bollits seem to head towards the X ring - feels like a light 357 mag load. :cbpour:

The 38 Special is tied with the 45ACP for my favorite handgun rounds in the world. The 38 Spl. will deliver sterling accuracy all the way up and down it's power line. It is one of those rounds that just wants to please you. It will also do about 95% of what a man wants a handgun round to do.
