The UPS guy pulled up while I was warming up my truck to go to work today and he handed me the box containing my mold, .314 Lee luber-sizer kit and gas checks. When I told the driver it was my new bullet mold his face lit up with a huge smile. Although he was obviously in a hurry and didnt have time to shoot the sh@# with me, I could tell he was an enthusiast. Anyway I'm stuck at work now for 8 hours! I cant wait to get home and cast- muhuhahahaha! Thanks to this website and the fact that I have several hundred TL-401-175-swc's under my belt now, I feel confident I'll have success with my new and first rifle mold. Now if I could only find some brass! In anticipation I've already pulled the bullets out of 200 brass cased berdan primed yuogoslavian rounds and they will be the first to be loaded with real boolits. That should give me some time to find some winchester cases. I'm gonna lube some with laa and some with my homemade lube of 50/50 paraffin-synthetic bearing grease and see how they work out.
I'll be sure to keep everyone posted on the results of the lube comparison as well as the performance of the sks paratrooper. :castmine:

Are those Yugo cases corrosive primed? (I think all military ones are.) Don't forget to clean appropriately.

Yes sir, they are corrosive. I always disassemble and clean the rifle completely and immediately after each firing session so I shouldn't have a problem but thanks for the heads-up.

Are rookie shortskies hard to get. I have a small stash of them but would like to grab some more. Willbird and I bought some loaded Lapua stuff a few years back at a gunshow and man is that some purty stuff!

No, I think he meant to say Rooski Shortski (as in short russian) aka 7.62x39. As opposed to the Rooski Longski aka 7.62x54.

Boxer primed 7.62x39 has become a bit scarce recently. Wideners had a special buy on a big run of IMI brass they had made for them, but it appears to be sold out already as I don't see it listed on their website anymore. I only have 100 Lapua and 100 Win. brass, but my Rooski Shortski is a Rossi shingle shot (I like that, Rossi Rooski Shortski), so I won't go thru brass very fast.

Looks like I wont be loosing shells easily also. I'm getting a Lee enfield jungle carbine in 303 brit today for 20 bucks. I just hope my Lee-TL-312-60-2r will work for it.

That one did not work in my Enfiel.
20min of berm at 100yds.
I went to the C312/185R and paper patched.
Now my Enfield likes it.
The .303 seems to like them heavy.

Doggone it!! I need to get mt "S" fixed. I even proof read before posting. I have been shooting this boolit out of a new to me US 1917. Too cold to go to barn and slug throat do I have some sized @ .310 that I have been playing with. 16.5gr 2400, 10gr Tite Wad, and 33gr IMR 4895 is shooting great out of the ole war horse. These are checked TLed and sized when dry. I load a few in kitchen, step out back door and shoot at target on burning barrel or anything sticking up outa the snow in the field.(most everything covered now) My 8 year old daughter was shooting it yesterday with this boolit ahead of 2.8gr titewad. Very quiet and she hits the burnin barrel which really tickles her. ;)
Oh ya its this guns Bday too. Barrel stamped "1-18". It came from CMP North just a couple days ago. I better stop before I am accused of hijacking.
