Is the Lyman #2 alloy cast in a 311041 w/gas check ok for hunting, or would it be too hard or too soft?

What velocity would be best for this hunting load out of a 30-30 Marliin 336?

Most of my shots at hogs would be 75 yards or less. But generally I shoot for behind the ear, so accuracy is important.

Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Fine blt. for 30-30. Drive blt between 1800-2000 of 12-15 BH and I think you will be very satisfied. Air cooled wheelweights will work well.

If you are buying certified #2 alloy it will work fine. If you are not plain air cooled ww will work as well.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help.

That will save me a lot of time and lead. I have 40# of the certified and I didn't want to waste it. I'll work on a load around that speed until I get it accurate.
