Here's the short version.

someone wants a particular boolit made.

Gets a bunch of others who want it too.

Everyone sends one person money,he orders the moulds, then gets a discount for the amount of moulds ordered. Everyone benefits from the discount, and moulds are shipped to those who bought them.

I have not done it, but, from what I have seen, Apparently if enough orders are accumulated, certain costs are waived.
That would be an advantage to group purchaseing. Also, molds that are not currently made, can, with enough interest be fabricated.
It makes sense to me.

We gather our resources to get better prices buying bulk. On moulds, we design a mould that is usually a modified version of something commercial but spec'd to drop boolits the way we want them. For gaschecks, we buy in bulk to get a better product at a cheaper price. For the magazines and stripped lowers, same thing, bulk purchase gets better prices.

If you go with Lee, 25 moulds and they wave the $100 setup fee. Even if you don't make the 25 the buyers split the cost of the setup fee.
