I should think a "Masterpiece for the eternity" would carry a hefty price tag.

Interesting piece of machining! Not sure what I would needone for but I think I want one.

I don't just want one of those, I NEED one of those. That is a must have toy. I don't care what caliber it is, how much it cost, I need that rifle. I bet it will shoot cast just fine, and be a great elk or moose rifle. Looked a bit large for white tale.

Best wishes from the Boer Ranch,

Joe

Years ago a guy I worked with told me about a shotgun that he cobbled up to carry around SEA.

He took a right hand and a left hand 12 GA Browning Semi Auto and welded them together with a single trigger. Cut the barrels down to just long enough and made a handy double barrelled sawed off shotgun that he could carry on a sling.

He said it was very effective with buckshot at close range

I would have liked to see and shoot it but he did not bring it back to the states for obvious reasons.

Here is another Dandy idea.

A year or so I saw this and it had attached the story of why it was developed. I think it is on the company website. Well worth reading.

Appears to be more info on the inventor and the various prototypes here:

He does over/unders, too

now that is a good bit of engineering. Did you look at the photo gallery? The one of the last shown is a double bolt in .700 special. That would a case of "Umm I don't think you want to put both fingers in there"!!

I still keep having to tell myself that I don't need one of those .45-70 doubles that Remington is importing. The flesh is willing but the wallet is weak......

So, All that extra effort just so you can fire one more shot before you reload? Makes me wonder if they made that thang just to prove that they could. Makes ya wonder how their mental health is.

Course in .700 you might not get 5 shots in a normal bolt action, but it would be so much simpler to make a longer magazine while they were at the task of making the magazine detatchable. I recognize the quicker second shot available with a double, but why not just go to a semi auto like the Barratt and save some money? Is this where "don't bother me with the facts" comes in?

No wonder going to war without the French is like going hunting without an acordian.

That is one of the definitions of Art. Visualizing something the world has never seen before and making that vision come true.

That, and you'd probably get a lot of attention down at the range. :-D

It does look like a nice piece of work, but for what it probably costs I'd rather have twin mount browning 50's.

There you have it in a nutshell. A quicker second shot, coupled with the reliability of a double. This is what you want in a DG rifle, the magazine is just insurance. Barretts are good rifles, but, anything mechanical can go wrong. Do you want to take that chance with four tons of PO'd elephant coming at you.

cool gun great concept, beautiful work. Who cares that if they made it just to see if they could??? Glad they did. I am sure a lot of people thought that a ball projectile was just fine............Anything that makes guns newer and cooler is necessary in my book!

Not trying to shift the thread but I was under the impression that Remington was not going to import those doubles, just the singles. Have they started to import the double?

I thimk it's the Asprely-Aimless come to life!

BTW this thang probly has a more confused mechanical makeup than a semi automatic. Yup, an accordion (heh, heh)

StrawHat,
I've seen the Rem. import .45-70 doubles at the tables of 2 different dealers at gunshows as well as in a local gunshop. One of the dealers also had one in .30-06 that looked interesting but was listed at $100 higher for no apparent reason. Had to look twice to see that it wasn't a .410 double with sights.

The rest of us are too darn busy to be skylarking!
