Hi, I am looking to buy a Lee 2 cavity 9mm mold, already have 2 Lee .45 molds that work great.( 200 swc & rnfp)
Out of their 9mm molds which do you find the most accurate and reliable? I am leaning towards their 124TL TC.
Thanks for your guidance

I have the RCBS 125 gr TC, the Lyman 125 gr. TC, and the Lee 125 gr. TC, (not TL).
The Lee seems to be more accurate than the other two in a .357 Rossi carbine, 357 TC, and 9mm Glock.

I have the 124gn TC mold.
I think it is great. I pan lube. It sizes well, loads well, I have not had hangbacks yet.

The TC's seem to feed alright? I've been thinking of getting a round nose mold for my two Browning hipowers and CZ-75B. One of the hipowers has the feed ramp with the hump in it that is supposed to like ball only.

I use both the 9mm and the 45 TL-TC designs.....in a word= STELLAR

They both work great..no FTFeed or FTFire...I like em....and I don't care for lee snot...but it works so good in this application one just has to run with it.

One thing to bear in mind: This mold will produce boolits that will not load to the standard OAL in most load manuals. The OAL on the Alliant web site and for the Lee Manual would not chamber in my friend's CZ SP-01. You have to work out the seating depth based on the gun's chamber, and should probably download the powder and work up very slowly. I have the same mold, and have a bunch of rounds that will chamber, but haven't tested powder charges yet.

Basically, on a RN type bullet, more of the bullet's weight is forward of the crimp groove or shoulder, and is thus longer when measured from the case neck. The TC is pretty short, so be careful that the rounds chamber, and aren't loaded too hot (more of the boolit is in the case, which will increase pressure over a standard RN profile bullet).

:coffee: I like the lee 9mm tl round nose boolit -- use it 38 spc and 9mm loads -- tumble lubed with lee alox and bullseye as the propellant. out of the mould it measures about .358

I prefer the lee 124g round nose, I also MUCH prefer the 6 cavity molds if you go with lee.

With the TC bullet seated to cover the lube the loaded rounds are very short and like to rattle about in my Uzi magazines.

One of my favorite molds and bullets. I think the best group I've fired to date in a pistol was out of my STI Trojan 9mm, off a bench at 7 yards with the 124gr Lee lubed with LLA ahead of 3.6 grains of W231 loaded to a OAL of 1.125". Five shots grouped at .26".

I like the mold so much, I'm thinking about buying a spare just in case Lee quits making them.

(Lower group was a draw and shoot for the center of the 6" dia. target as soon as I could get a good sight picture.)
