View Full Version : I want to bitch but not appear ungrateful

Somewhere is better than nowhere.....I acknowledge that first thing.
But, I hate how the pages appear here...hard on the eyes, distracting.....YUK!
Is this referred to as the format? If I can say anything about the last roost we had, it was easy to read the posts and navigate. Okay, happy pill swallowed and I'm laying back down in my corner. :x
Ain't ungrateful either, but even when I am connected at 36 whatever they are, it still takes literally minutes to open a particular forum. It goes part way and then seems to stall in place. Maybe just my new XP crap system?...BCB

I have high speed internet and it still takes a long time to load. Lets get the new software in now before we lose too many people...

I have all the problem that both Jumptrap and BCB mentioned. Slow, hard to see, sometimes can't go to a individual forum at all, so I go away and come back later. If this is the promised land, is it too late to go back to Egypt? Just kidding, Moses. curmudgeon
Fellas, I am updating software, doing some testing. Testing the importing usernames and posts and getting this prepared.. Tonight we switch to our new home for a long long time.

If our paths ever cross, I will buy you a beer or doughnut or something. Many thanks for all your efforts.

It's fine with me. The only thing I can think of to ask for, is email. Is it possible to have email for the members, like scrounger@castboolits.com or scrounger@gunloads.com?

That is very possible, but right now I cannot offer that.

Glad you like it :)

Will someone please email me when the posts are back on a today listing. There is no way I can even begin keeping up with posts with my slow connection as is.

Gunload Master, Looks like wishing did make it so. That's service with speed worthy of a genie! Speed is up to speed, contrast is visible to even us geezers, and I haven't seen "this page can't be displayed" lately. For my next wish, how about a CZ 527 Carbine in 7.62 x 39? Regards, curmudgeon

Let's do a group buy....Seriously, we could probably get at least a dozen commitments with pre-payment. We'd get a substantial discount off the usual price. One of us with FFL would be buyer and transship guns to other buyers at their expense and by legal methods. It's do-able.

I'm lusting for a 452 in 7.62x39 as well... but honestly I think I am jonesing more for the new Savage model 40 varminter in .22 Hornet! I just had my CZ 527 in .221 Fireball out to the range to get acquainted and I think we are going to get along well together!
But if this group rifle buy ever gets legs I'll probably have something for sale, just so I can join in too!

You have one in Fireball? I want one of those too. In our proposed group buy, we would be able to buy either caliber. Or some of us who have the disease real bad, would buy 2 or 3 of them in different calibers.

I'm a little bit slow to appreciate the blessings of globalism. I don't understand what the UN does to justify its existence, or why American Supreme Court Justices advocate our emulating foreign laws. Could somebody please explain to me the advantage of running this site on GMT? GMT makes some sense for military radio communications, but determining when a post was made would be much easier if this site used a time zone closer to the biological clocks of most members. Mountain or Central time would be within one or two hours for most Americans and Canadians, by far the overwhelming majority of members. Going back six years on Shooters and Aimoo, I can only remember three posters from the GMT time zone. curmudgeon

If someone could explain why GMT is the standard on most every Bulliten Board I would be happy as well. But I do know that most of the Bulliten Boards are not coded in the United States. This board particular has the company ran out of the United Kingdom. Since it was done over that way, they probably feel the need to make it more friendly to them not us.

Have you gone into your profile and adjusted the time.
I adjusted mine to GMT -6 so it displays all times in Mountain Daylight (right now) Time. All the times shown are in agreement with my clock on the wall.

Waksupi, What is that competent looking boolit on the left side of your test post? Also, it's hard to make out the head of the critter on your avatar. It's about the size of a Budweiser beer wagon horse, hope it wasn't wearing shoes! curmudgeon

Curmudgeon, that is the Bator Heavy, for the .358. Weighs in at 277 when it's ready to go to the dance. It's what I used on the critter you're referring to. I didn't have to remove shoes, but did have use a running iron to alter the brand a bit.
