Just bought it today for a bargain. It has been fired. Does anyone here shoot one of these? I read somewhere that it has a fast twist and was looking for a load recomendation. I have round ball (for plinking with maybe a 45 grain pyrodex charge) Sabots and the Lee target minie number 90471.

You can check the twist by marking the ramrod and pushing it into the barrel with a tight cleaning jag. Measure how far it turns for say 24" and do the math. If it goes half way around it has a 1-48" twist and so on.

I will go try it. It appears to have a 1/28 twist. So I guess a sabo would be the place to start.

Don't give up on roundball until you try them. I shoot PRB out of a 1:28" Green Mountain barrel and they group very well.

OK, I would rather not pay the extra for the sabots. Time to cast some target minies and round balls then off to the range and see what happens.

Maybe try some maxies if the minies don't work out. RB's should shoot good as long as you don't push them too hard and you have a good tight patch.
