Hi I'm READY to pour powder for RCBS gaschecked 200 (205?) in 358 Win and I would like to use H322 or H4895. I want to be somewhere around 2000 fps and plan to really tune for accuracy. I don't use a chrono, hoping someone has a similar load already for reference.
Thanks a lot.

7MMBR,
My rifle is an Interarms Mk X mauser action (the same as used on the Rem. 798) with a Douglas 22" premium bbl. with a McMillan piller bedded stock.
My target load is 16.7 gr. 2400 (that is what my Lyman Pistol Powder measure throws) for app. 1500-1600 fps. with the Lyman #358315 (app.206 gr.)--shoots 1/2 and under at 50 yds.
My hunting load (2 whitetail does) 35 gr. IMR 3031 with same bullet--vel app 1900-2000 fps.

Hope this helps !

My rifle is a Ruger M-77R, same as it came from the factory but glass-bedded now. My 358 Win loads with the RCBS 200gr FN have all been good as long as I keep velocities at or below 2000fps. Loads I have used successfully for hunting include 35 grs 3031 for about 1750 fps and 45 grs RL-12 (discontinued powder) for about 2000fps. When I increased the 3031 up to 40 grs of powder (approx 2200fps) the groups got too large. At 1750 or above this bullet is a real killer - you won't be disappointed. I would think that you could start at about 38 grs of 4895 and work up until you see the groups enlarge. In my loads I use a powdered polyethylene filler similar to SuperGrex.

40 gr IMR 4895 gives 2300 fps with my rcbs 200 with water quenched WW, LBT blue and a necked up LC match case, 20 inch barrel, very accurate.

40 gr IMR 4064 gives 2050 fps with everything the same as above.

good luck

I get 2060 fps with 40.5 grains of H-4895 in my BLR and 2"-2.5" groups at 100 yards. Accuracy remains the same but, velocity drops 100 fps when using surplus 4895. I cast up a lot of 35-200 FN in the early '80s using 1-3 lino/ lead and water dropped but, only a few are left.
