Ok, Who's got the simplest, cheapest, and the BEST boolit lube recipe that contains

I second the JPW and i sell Beeswax. I do enjoy using the stuff on slow 45 acp loads. I'm just curious how much velocity can you get by with it?
Throw a small blob in a pan, heat a lttle, roll your boolits in it, cool and load..

The only drawback is "WOOO that smell"

Equal parts Paraffin and Vaseline ( a little light on the Vaseline and a little heavy on the Paraffin), 1 tbsp STP. I usually toss in some carnuba wax flakes, about 1 or 2 tablespoons. Balance the Paraffin and Vaseline to get the consistancy you need. Works in my 44s.

I've heard of that type before, paraffin+vaseline, also paraffin+moly-graf extreme pressure grease.

Soy bean wax is a fair substitute and inexpensive; but I like cappings grade beeswax in my mix.

If applied correctly I know you can get real close to 2500 fps. I use it on all of my 30 cal boolits. I load my 30-30 and 30-06 with cast boolits just like I would jacketed. I have over 300 rounds out of each of them and have yet to run a patch down the bore of either. I have posted some of my groups along with the load data in other threads, and they are all MOA or smaller. I am thinking about loading up some for my 300 win mag and finding out just how fast I can push them with JPW as a lube.

P.S. To answer the question that started this thread, JPW gets my vote. I don't heat it or the boolits at all. I toss a couple of globs in a plastic peanut butter jar, dump the boolits in and tumble the crap out of it. Once all of them are nice and slimy I dump them out on wax paper, stand them up on their base and let them dry for a couple of days. If you heat them up they dry faster, but end up with less lube on them and cannot be pushed as fast. The only leading I ever got was when I heated my boolits and shot them out of my 44 mag with a light coat of JPW.

I use JPW on all types of stuff from .22's to .500's....ussally I will do a light coating of LLA let it dry for a few hours and then a few good coats of JPW using the same method as Joe. I use it with Ranch Dog bullets for full power 30-30 loads.

Good morning Parifin (old candles... ) & bearing grease. 50/50 been using it for years. I shoot my 44-40 with it. softcast 220 + 8-10 grains Unique in a 1892 SRC Winny made in 1893. God Bless ya !

I know bees wax can be a bit of a PITA in some ways , But I cant see myself making lube without it. Its just TOO GOOD! Its almost a good lube by its self...ALMOST. IMHO.....Buck

Gotta ask about JPW. Do you JPW lube before or after sizing of both?

All my bullets going through the Lee Sizer's get put in a zip lock bag and roll them around after a shot of WD-40 or 3 in 1 oil . Or a light coat of Lee Liquid run them through and then JPW.

For a long time before I started keeping bees the lube I used in my pistols was one cake of parrifin and one Johnny bowl ring. Cheap, easy but I have no idea how fast you can push it.
On rifles I started with LLA and never saw a reason to change.
