I have a 1950's Marlin 336A in 35 Remington with Ballard rifling. I'm in the market for a bullet mould.

I'm considering the RCBS 35-200 GC, the SAECO #356 (35 grain 200 grain GC), and the Ranch Dog 35-190 GC.

Does anyone have any cast diameters for these moulds? I'd like a wheelweight bullet to be a fat .359" (.360" would be nice).

I seem to remember reading somewhere that RCBS can recut a mould to a slightly bigger size. Am I dreaming, or is this true? It would be great if that service was available. It would make the RCBS 35-200 an interesting option. I've been calling RCBS customer service for the past several days, and just get a busy signal (trying to ask them if this service is available).

Comments welcome from anyone who has used these moulds in a 35 Remington Marlin (particularly in a Ballard-rifled version).

Thanks.

I only have the RCBS. It casts a .359.

Just got a Ballard 35 and only fired a few rounds but most guys really like the boolit for the 35 ballard. I get very good accuracy in 35 Microgroove.

I would own all three and will someday. Ranch Dogs mold is a must have at the price, and he has a lot of info on his website.

I cast the Ranch Dog 359 bullet and size it to 359. I also have the Lyman #358315 204grain RN mold, but I have the Lyman 358617, 215 gr SWC bullet mold for the 357 Max that I shoot in 35 Remy. I size both of the Lyman bullets to .358 and they work well, some harder alloys with the #358315 mold doesn't cast the bullet large enough, so it really doesn't engage the rifling properly and they don't size to .358.

So I use WWs with a GCs and they work very well for me, once I figured out molds and how well they cast the bullets.

This is a really fun rifle/caliber to shoot, it does well on larger game in the midwest. I haven't taken it to big game country yet, but maybe soon.
