Hi Guys I am negotiating on a .224 swage die from Herters. The die appears to be similar to a C&H set up, 7/8 x 14vthread body, large headed plunger ejector .The punches are in question. Does anyone have any experience or info on this model of Herters dies? Please advise. meerrden@comcast.net

What you have is a reloading press die. Herter's sold them as a set; die body, knockout punch; nose punch and shellholder. The shellholder is a typical Herter's shellholder only without the center hole for the primer punch. It fits a 30-06 size case head.
These dies swage the bullet nose down. Finding a punch to fit these dies is difficult. Nearly everyone of them I see available for sale is missing the nose punch.
They were offered in 22, 6mm, 30, 38, 44 and 45 calibers.
