Hi guys,

What do you recommend for a game boolit out of a 257 Roberts and/or 250 Savage?

Any loading data would be helpful also.

Thanks!

A bullet or a boolit?

Oooops, boolit!

Got plenty of experience with the J word bullets, looking to get into BOOLITS for them now.

Thanks

Well, I have an old M722 Remington Roberts that shoots the RCBS 25-120-SP or the RCBS 25-100-FN or the Lyman #257312 pretty good.

Just depends on your wants and needs.

For general hunting, I like the 25-120-SP, for varmints, the 257312 and for all in one general purpose, the 25-100-FN which also does double duty in my .25-35 and is aspecial order number from RCBS when I last looked./beagle

Cramer 55A is my favorite boolit in the .250 Sav. It is a nominal 100g RN. 14 to 15g of either 4759 or 5744 have both worked well. Also, the RCBS 100g is a good clone of the 55A. I am gonna start load development all over again this year with my newly acquired NIB Rem 700 Classic in .250 Sav. I only hope it performs as well as my first Classic in .250 Sav.

Hi KSC,

I have used the RCBS 120 gr. with 18 gr. SR 4759 and 19 gr. H-4198 in a .257 Ackley Improved so if you just drop a couple of grains...You could start there even as neither load is excessive. I finally got a chrono and the SR 4759 load clocks out at 1800 FPS + and the H-4198 load at 1900 FPS.

The RCBS 95 grain in a .243 is great with 12.5 gr of Alliant 2400 so I tried a load of 13.5 gr. in the .257 but not real good accuracy. I think that there is a place for a 2400 load in there somewhere but just haven't found it.

Keep us posted.

I just picked up the Cramer #55 and would be curious to see what that thing does.

I have the 55A too. Great boolit, very hard to find.
