This is my favorite 45ACP bullet I like to shoot, and cast.
H&G68
5.3 gr of W231
OAL 1.240
Brass anything that says 45ACP on it  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/PDshooter/casting/05.jpg

And a "Lee taper crimp die"

..............Ah the H&G #68. You and anyone who's been casting for the 45 ACP longer then 10 minutes apparently like that slug too!

Probably the most popular bullet around for the 45 ACP. Every bullet mold maker makes a clone of H&G 68.

This bullet pushed 850 fps, will give target accuracy, reliable fuction, plenty of stomp and shoot to the sights in most any GM pistol.

I currently like 7.5/AA5 under this bullet, because I have allot of it.

Same here with that bullet and it's copies. They all shoot well. I use 5.0 grains of W231 and 4.5 grains of Bullseye with equal success. I tried a light load of Clays, but it leaded in all my guns. I tried it because the action shooters seem to like it for the faster slide action. As noted I too ignore the headstamp as it does not seem to make any difference.

That boolet in the plain base version (Saeco calls it a #69) is my favorite. I compared it with other styles and weights and various powders last year to the tune of over 1K rounds tested. Final results? This bollet with 3.5 grains of Clays in my scoped BE gun and 2.9 gr. of clays in the iron sighted gun. 12 lb. recoil spring in both guns. Also, 4.1 Gr. of WST did very well and seemed to have less recoil. I chose Clays because I have much more of it than WST and it did better in 2 different guns.
