Typeset? Is this type metal?

If so it could be anything from foundry type to linotype, and it contains no nickel. It contains high levels of antimony and tin depending on what it is.

If it's lino or foundry type, it would be such a waste to shoot it as is. I would alloy it two parts lead to one part lino or three or three or four parts foundry type to one part lead to get hard cast... I guess you could shoot it as is but it would probably shatter when shot against plates. People will buy it from you if you don't need it... If I were you and the price was right, I would buy it!

Sounds like mono type to me. I cut mono type 6 to 1 WW to take advantage of the tin.
Good stuff to alloy with. bullshop told me to flux it hot with sawdust when alloying. It works well....Buck
