I know that ALOX sticks to lead real good and im wondering if I can remelt boolits with liquid ALOX on them in my bottom pour without having it affect the boolits im casting? Or do I have to resmelt them. Thanks in advance.

You can remelt but it gets kind of smoky and messy.

I normally clean in kerosene, let dry and then remelt and it's still a bit smoky but doeable./beagle

Makes cool flux. Lots of smoke, interesting smell, great clean lead.
No worries.

:drinks: Thanks. I was thinking it would give me problems with sticking all over my molds and furnace.

The alox will turn into a liquid on top of the melt that you can skim off. It's not a problem though.

I use old boolits & rejects for flux. Just drop one or two in when you want to flux.

To cut down the smoke/smell when recasting lubed boolits, simply light the puddle of melted Alox with a kitchen match and allow it to burn off.
