I have a mold that had one lube groove, not the several smaller grooves. Can I use Lee tumble lube on these bullets or will I lead the barrel. The bullets are for low velocity .38's.
Thanks

Also, what does it mean when my boolits wont release easily from the mold.

Tumble lube will work fine, especially on low velocity ammo, despite being a conventional bullet.

Usually, sticking bullets are due to a burr in the mould preventing release. Could be other things, but check for that first. You'll find the bullet hangs up in the half of the mould having the burr.

Some bullet moulds, due to bullet design, hang up worse than others.

Works great- less filling.

I use it on my 44(1100fps) and 45 auto(850fps) boolits all the time. I did some enviromental salvage operations (burm mining for lead[smilie=1:) and saw alot of 357,44,45 boolits that still had lube in the grooves. Obviously more lube than needed.

I do it on a LEE .45 ACP 230 round nose with one skinny lube groove. Works great. Same with the LEE 158 grain with the wider single lube groove. The .45 runs around 740 fps with the 230 and about the same or a little faster with the .38.

I shoot mostly TL boolits in hand guns. When I shoot the Lyman 358429 I run them through the Lubrisizer.

I use it on the 45-70 and 7-30 Waters bullets I cast, no issues with leading but I also GC the 7mm's and keep the velocity below 1900 fps. I will eventually get a sizer and luber but this stuff will work for the time being. Living in an apartment sucks.
