Ok guys, check this out:
Go here:
http://demo.vbulletin.com/index.php?

It will ask for a username and password:
User Name: Demo698a
Password: b36cc546

Go in there and check that out, please don't mess around in the Admin section, but you can create an account, post some messages and such. Let me know how you like it, because chances are we will be going to that.
(it dont have a today feature right now, but it will)

This place will be deleted, so run around and see if you like the speed and design of it. There are some things that will look different, but overall it will be similar to this.

Please let me know!

Some of the features of this new board are:

1)Faster
2)More options
3) You get the text of the post when you put your mouse over it, and it has a delay which works good.
4) Nice design
5) Should be easier on the eyes with the colors
6) ATTACHMENTS can be put into your posts.. Meaning if you have a picture on your computer that you would like to share, you can just upload it directly from your computer into the post! Very cool feature.

The ID and password didn't work for me...

The original one expired, so I created a new one, Look up to see the NEW username and password.

They either expire fast or I have a problem with copy and paste. The new one doesn't work for me either.

It's still working, make sure when you copy you dont have ANY spaces..

That other one is MUCH faster Willy! Seems like there are a few more features over there too.

I signed up over there so i could play, hope that wont mess things up if you move this over...

That is completely seperate, and it's very limited. It will only be up for a very small while for testing. Go crazy on it :D

So my registration will be deleted?

*Clarification*
Only at that test site yes. Everything over there will be deleted. It's just a test to see if that software is a nice idea and a go ahead. And I think it is.
If we do end up purchasing this software, this is whats going to happen:

I will set this up on my server and configure it and get it setup running nice. Today feature added, etc.

Than I will specify a date and time when this forum will shut down for about 30 minutes to update the new software with registrations and posts and make it the default forum. So you will be able to log in, and see all the messages normally, just be on a brand spankin new board. Should be an easy transition.

This subSilver is not the only option for this software; here is some other styles available for phpBB, you can change it from the top of the page:

Test platforms might not give the real picture of the speed and functioning. Here is few active gun related forums using vBulletin (different version maybe):

If it's the software they use at Beartooth's Shooters Forum then I say it is a huge improvement. I love the "posts since last visit" button and the delay on their pop ups makes the post menu much easier to navigate while still maintaining the feature for those that like it.

Guys and Gals, we are going ahead with the new software. I am going to get it going for us today, but we won't actually move to the new software for possibly a few days. I'll keep you all posted.

Wow! You were fast. Looks good too so far, easier on my eyes or something like that. More technical outlook as well.

Btw, this site and also whole Gunloads has been quite tacky for me lately (few days), data transfer is not slow actually, but time to time it takes long wait before anything happens? Maybe 10-20 seconds or about. Is it because all this moving and fiddling with options or something else? Right now for example maybe five+ minutes ago IE gave me page could not be displayed (waiting time exceeded), but couple of minutes ago I was able to get in here.

Anyway, hopefully these are just small starting problems; best of luck to You with all this and Thank You!

I've been updating / deleting / updating / more deleting/ etc etc with the HTTP server, and database server. Some times when I am doing stuff like that it slows down. Any who, I am off to bed, so it should run good for a while :)
