Looking to the future, I'm trying to downsize my inventory. In this case, that means I'm going to sell my 9X18 Makarov guns, (2 P-64s and a CZ 82) and keep my 9mm Star which I like a little better, God forgive me. Since ammo is going to get more expensive and harder to find, I'm going to have to reload for it, something I've managed to avoid so far in my life. I have a set of dies but I'm in the market for a quantity of brass and a mold. I'm not thrilled with any of the 9mm bullets I see so I wonder if any of the .38 SWCs of about 125 grains will feed ok. I'm thinking about the Lee 125 RF because it would work well in my .357s too. Your thoughts on this?

Scrounger, I have been playing around with the 125 rf in my 9mm sig. Bought them at a cowboy shoot and sized them to .356. Don't Know what mold they came out of but they feed and shoot fine. I think all of the 125rf are about the same profile. I've been using them with 3.2 gr. 700x because I have a lot of it on hand. Would be glad to drop you a few 125's in the mail if you would like to try them.

I like the look of the 125RF and, if I didn't have a 125 2r already, I would have purchased a mold!

I have also used the 105 semi wadcutter from lee and found it worked will and feeds fine in my firestar. I also have a Saeco 9mm semi wad mold and it works will also.

I'd like to see the 125RF without the crimp groove, a tad shorter in length and coming out of the mold at .357. This would also be a good boolit for a 9mm.

Perhaps a future GB?

I may wind up with one of these molds come Xmas, if I do I will try to load it on my favorite charge of Bluedot and see what it will do.

My Lee 120 grain truncated cone feeds and shoots well from my Ruger P85 sized to .358. It is also large enough (barely) to work in my 357 but mine prefers a heavier bullet. My Norinco likes it at .356.

If you don't mind going a little lighter The Lee 105g swc that Heavymetal mentioned is a good little shooter and acurate too. It shot and fed well in my 9mm when I had it and I stll use it for my 38 and 357.

I've had great results with the LEE 125 TC TL. Sized to .356, I've fed them through all my nines. Everything from Hi-Powers & Sigs to my MPA Mac 11.

An added bonus is that they drop at .358. So I load em unsized in 38 Spl. The boolits shoot really well out of my 38s & 357 mags also.

I load em with AA5, Bullseye & Universal with good results for all 3 powders.

I use the Lee 125 TC TL also, but use it unsized in my 9mm. Casts at .357 Tumble lube them, let them dry and load them. I use WW 231 powder

Art--

No experience with the the casting you mention, but my 9mm cast boolit work shows that if the boolit is big enough to fit the barrel's throat and grooves--and the boolit's front drive band area is wide enough to engage the rifling origin without skidding--you should be good to go. I've had better luck with truncated cone-type designs with definite front drive bands than with RN designs that have sort of a "default" front drive band, but the RF may have a longer ogive radius or better-placed ogive origin than many RN designs have.

All three of my nineguns prefer .357" sizing.

I cast and use the Lyman 356402 in a Glock 17. It feeds just fine. Does anyone have any experience or load suggestions using the Lyman 356634 130gr bullet. I have some I want to try but can't find any data on powder charge or OAL.
Thanks,
