Thanks to all of you for your advice on getting another BCPR. I bought a Shiloh #1 used from a guy in Bozeman MT. It is 45-70 with a heavy half round barell. When it gets shipped to me I will post some pics and let you know how it shoots. I feel I got a real fair deal on it and am very excited. It has a MVA 130 rear sight that will probably be for sale in the future. I know it has a globe front, but don't know what kind yet. Thanks again for all your help.

Angus, thats great news the shiloh you wont regret buying.

And they hold value. There are a few guys in your area (Sheridan) that shoot them they are mostly Smokless shooters but good guys.

Get down Gillette way,

Why are you planning on selling the MVA? Not tall enough?

In case some of you haven't been to Dayton, Wyoming, it is the prettiest town in the world, to my way of thinking.

Call Montana Vintage Arms and check out what they need to do to put a soule on the base on your gun...maybe save a bunch of yankee dollars if they can...the base should inter-change and it's about $100 IIRC. Get the Hadley eyedisc too.

I've got the #130 and a #107 for my 50/90 Long Range Express, with a #112 front sight. The #130 is fine for the short range I have at home. The week at Quigley is my long range shooting.

It's pretty country up there. I drive pretty hard from St Louis to Grand Island and then jump off the interstate and sight see my way on up to the shoot. The Fetterman Massacre site is a special favorite...kinda like going to the Alamo. You get "some interesting vibrations walking along the ridge."
