Well I haven't used this rifle in a few years but did cast up a few hundred Ballisticast 1453 385 Gr. WFN GC bullets last year. Found a good load for them at about 2000 FPS or so. Got 2 with it so far. This is the doe I got last sat. am at about 35 yards. Hit her a little far back- I think it may have gotten deflected. Cast with 50/50 ww/Pb. Felix lube. Man am I proud of this load and bullet.

Here is a picture of the small spike taken from the same stand the evening before.

You need a bigger scope for 35 yard shots. . . . . ;-)

I have killed several with a revolver. In fact, my first deer was with a Super Redhawk using a 180 grain Rem. HP. I used a Lyman HP I cast on one out of my 5 1/2 inch 629 4 years ago at 28 yds. and 2 years ago I got a doe at 95 lasered yards using a bullet I designed and cast with a mountain mold out of my 4 inch 629. That has been the most satisfying one so far. Now I want to get a deer with my .348 Win. model 71 and my cast bullets. It is going with me this weekend.

Nice deer, I have the same gun but use a 1-4 Leupold. What was the load you used? I've had good results with 300& 400gr slugs using sr4759 but for a really light practice load a light charge of 700X with the 300gr gives excellent 50yd groups.
