Please,illucidate I am totally new at boxes for ammo,at least those older than me by a great deal,actually they have been an interest to me always ,however what makes them worthless or worthy ,is something I am weak at,I do know condition is No.1 but that's it.So begin my education ,why is this a," plum," and a bad one?

[smilie=l: I'll try to help you! Prunes are dried plums. People take prunes as a laxative. As for ammo boxes, you have to collect them for them to have value. I do not, but some do, and of course the older they are and the less common they are the more they'd be worth. They would also have some value to cartridge collectors who have the cartridges and need an original box to put them in. In this case, the OP thought the wooden box was for .30-40 Krag cartridges, but it turned out that it originally contained 30-40 plums.
