Take a look at the Yahoo Geocities web page builders. They are free. That's what I use, and it is a WYSIWYG format, so is real simple. Otherwise, I couldn't use it. This is what mine looks like.

Not to get this too off from the original post, but this relates to the whole issue of education. First, as a possible fix for your problem, have you considered assigning this to one of your children as a homework problem? I know that you home school your children and this is a perfect application of problem solving as a real world situation. As an educator, I use this method with some frequency with motivated students. I have had students learn how to use MS powerpoint and then they can teach other students and me how it is done. One of the main fallacies in education is that we can actually teach students enough "facts" for them to survive in life. There is too much information now in the world for anyone to learn it all anymore. That was not the case in the not to distant past, but the amount of information is growing exponentially. That being said, what education needs to do is teach children how to learn. They need to be able to ask the right questions and use higher order thinking skills to apply what they have learned to their particular situation. This board is a perfect example of what I mean. We are all here to learn, not just get facts. There was an earlier thread about people that were asking for loads, those people irritatate some of us in that it seems they are just wanting facts, not that they want to improve their reloading education. It appeared that they want to take all the shortcuts without doing the thinking. That approach does not involve thinking or learning, only recipe following. The vast majority of us whether we think about it or not, are engaged in true life application of the scientific method and applied higher order thinking. As a science teacher I use this site as a touchstone of what I would like my students to be able to do. This level of thinking is not usual in the world today and this group of people are surprisingly like minded, not always in our perspective on issues, but in our approach to problem solving and thoughtful discourse.
I am sorry about the long rant but, consider having the children use this as a school project with you providing the parameters and guidance. I think in the long run you will get a better product and give your children a life skill. Daniel has already shown us here that he is a thoughtful young man with some interest in the family business and all computer skills will benefit him and the business for years to come.

350 mag-
Along the lines of your post, i've asked alot of newly graduated degree holders what they went to school for. They all got the answer wrong. The only two that got it right (your the third BTW) were old experienced engineers. You go to school to learn how to think. If only the school systems realized this fact.

i called the provider AGAIN... again they try loggiing in.. it is still THEIR fault :( ... this has been their fault for a long time, they keep telling me things are changed, after i get so frustrated , i call again, and ask THEM to log in, and they can't!!! I wouldn't mind having the children work on this as a project, however, the company needs to get it right first  it really is upsetting to me... noone seems to know what they are doing, yet, I am the one paying for it ... sorry for the rant... i will keep calling them, until they get sick enough of hearing me, that they get it fixed! Were you able to get anymore info on the Delta schools?
Hey Bull Shop Mom, you can private message me your information and I can help your problem out. I know a little bit about website hosting and maintenace. :)
A really useful website editor is Microsoft Frontpage which is a very handy tool to use but it does cost a little bit of $$$.

Bull Shop Mom,
From what I have been able to find through my educator connections, the Delta Greeley school system is a good one to work for. It looks like I will probably be staying out here at the end of the Yukon River for a little while yet. The school district is putting together a package for my wife and me that will have us going back to Hooper Bay on the coast. We worked there before and I will be the assisstant principal and she will be the counselor. Professionally, this will be a good move for me to get som admin experience and we can then move to the road system when I am more marketable. Maybe Delta will have positions for both of us in a year or two.
Thanks,
Ken

BSM, I can think of two simple things right off. First, did you name your home page by the naming convention of your host? Often times the main page is something like 'index.htm' or 'index.html'. Second, did you put it in the right folder on the server? Understand your frustration. I've had similar experiences building and moving stuff. Hang in there and work through it. sundog

Bullshop. What you did was you deleted your main files from your "www" directory. These files were your index.html and Page_1x.html and your image folder. When someone clicks on your website it looks for your index.html file. This file directed them to Page_1x.html page and on this page it links to your images in the folder "Page_1".
What you must do is to upload your "Index.html" "Page_1x.html" to your "www" directory. Than in that same "www" directory you should upload your "Page_1" folder with the images. Once this is done, it will be back to normal.
If you are still having problems you can .zip all those files and e-mail them to me and I will upload them for you.
