Meanwhile here in Michigan we are watching the temps plummet while it rains like crazy. Supposed to be worst I’ve storm in a while once temp hits freezing...

We have yet to get above freezing since Christmas and things don't look very good for that to change soon. Other side of the mountains, on the front range, they have been having 60 degree plus days till yesterday. I think Denver made 31 degrees. Supposed to snow a bit more today.

You have my pity. Here in South Central Texas it's 70 and has been all week. We have been hoping for freezing weather in the Austin area to freeze all the liberals up there.

These storms keep skipping over the front range doing little but dropping the temp
then landing hard on the Kansas border and moving east.

17 with wind chill of 9 in Denver area now. High of 43. About like it has been for a couple of weeks. No substantial snow since the big storm before Thanksgiving but we still have piles in shady areas. Jdfoxinc hit it typical January.

We had the same front pass through that Hossfly had. It started raining during the day. We sat up and watched it as it moved closer. It got nasty about midnight. Torrential rain, winds at 50+MPH, lightning, and wind. Also a few tornados across the State with property damage, trees blown down and power outages. Our power went off about midnight and was off until about 8:00 this morning. Made me thankful that we bought a generator. I think that may be the longest that its run at a time since I retired.

Some of you guys are still in line for it but it appear tone getting weaker.

It went around us.
We got a little smattering of rain, and its a breezy, cold & wet 40-ish degrees.

We had tornado alerts, but they went around us too.
I nailed down the dog for nothing.:bigsmyl2:

Warm right now in NW Ohio with lots of rain. Wind is supposed to pick up later. I loaded ammo this morning out in my barn and didn't light my heater. That isn't normal for mid-January.

Here in southwest Missouri today, we are having what used to be "normal" weather for January in that it is snowing great big flakes and lots of 'em. If it continues it will be deep by night fall. It is 28° and falling. Yesterday and last night we had storms, tornadoes in the area, and 4" of rain with road closings at most low water crossings. I should mention that it was about 60° here yesterday morning for a while. So today we have had ice followed by sleet, and now heavy snow. I guess this all means that global warming has ended in our area.

Looking forward to a dumping of snow over the weekend. Have new tractor with a 74" pull blower. I have only used it three times this year.

Snow is much better than freezing rain.

Found 2 pine trees on the line on my property, called it in with locations. Gen set been running for bout 14 hrs. Has ran for up to 30 hrs before and went ahead and changed oil and filter then. I use synthetic oil and it should last a good while. Found the mail box out across the driveway in the woods. A lot of green pine trees down in the thickets. 1 boiler lost control board in big greenhouse small green house lost all power , got it all fixed for now supposed to get to 32’ tonight. Hope the boilers keep working. That power off that pole sure is cheap compared to running a big Gen set, and 2 boilers. Have about 400 gallons of propane left in big tank, so we’re ok for a while.

I was just outside with my dog, it's -10 in high country Colorado. It's too cold to run the snow blower even though there's 2.5' of snow in my yard. Tonight it will probably be -20, that's so cold it makes your chest and eyeballs hurt...

We have had a great winter as well. We had fishable ice by Dec 1 and I have been out 5 times. Been a little windy the last few days but its all good when you have four seasons.

Little farther north in the NW corner of Arkansas, somewhere around 4 inches of rain, (got to get a gauge, it varies so much around here) last night into the morning. 30 at sunup and then about 10am an inch or so of sleet followed by dust of snow. Down to 17 or so tonight and 28 or so tomorrow. Was slush on driveway, so a lot is drying off with the wind. back up into the 50's by Tuesday.

Eastern SD down to --17 below, pitchfork handle gets cold real fast when I gave the cows a little extra hay, then off to a gun show. Just got home and temp was up to +2.

We have about the same as Smoked Turkey here in Central East Mo. We have a small church here in O Fallon and some have 30+ miles to come tomorrow but I think a few older folks will stay home. We have a church Directory so we can check on everyone to be sure they are OK.
Oh,yea, the snowblower is in the garage just waiting for me to crank it up. This year I have a left knee out of wack and will have to use the meds to get the job done. I have to wait until the 22nd to get gel shots in it again.

Storm came through here about 2-3am lotsa thunder and lightening and rain. Later this day sunny and 70+ degrees. Got tired of humping the old gas generator out of the garage and under the patio. Had a whole house generator installed with 500 gallon propane tank. Our house is all electric. Funny thing all the power outages haven't been long enough for it to kick in. Blink blink and power back on. Last year 2018 several outages. People who shouldn't be allowed to drive took out some power poles, and one dummy who was hauling sugar cane got one pole and drove away. Saw it happen so called the local utility they replaced the pole and sugar cane farmer got the bill. Frank

Power still out here, bout 30 hrs. Gen set still running, and 2 small boilers keeping greenhouses above 40’. Burning a lot fo propane, may need to call for more, bad time of year to purchase. More damage around than first thought, lots of trees on wires. Should be sunny today and boilers will be off. Then weather sposed to warm up.

Snow is much better than freezing rain.

Thats the truth!

We seldom get a nice snow here. Just freezing rain and sleet. Snow usually does not cause widespread problems. But freezing rain sticks to the limbs and wire and breaks them down. Then you have the broken poles from those that get out driving around that shouldn't be out!

Power back on after church, bright sky sent both greenhouses to ne’er 70’. This should be the last cold night for about a week. Generator has been working hard with the heat pumps and boilers, still have about 380 gallons of propane left.

Glad that you are back on. Entergy here in Arkansas, the company that I retired from, still has nearly 1900 customers off. It was a bad storm!

I've been wearing shorts for the past 7 days in the Raleigh area. Tomorrow it's long pants since it'll be close to freezing. Darn!
