New bunch of wheel weights

I friend has been saving weights for me, and he finally got a 5 gal pail filled, and called me. These are mostly bigger weights for big trucks. The weights that was 4 inches long or so, i tried to bend, and they snap into, instead of bending. Where they break, the metal looks very grainy. Do you guys suppose these are lead, or are they some new fangled thing? Zinc? Suppose i should just melt some down and find out. Basic question......... should a wheel wheight snap into? thanks,

IIRC, truck weights have a higher Antimony content, therefore they are harder.

The big weights will sometimes snap and look grainey. Drop them on concrete and if they clunk instead of ping they are probably OK.

I have a large amount of WW from big trucks. Even when mixed 50/50 with lead and water dropped the bullets have a BHN hardness of 19-20 after ageing a few days. Get some soft lead and you can double the amount of boolit alloy you have. May have to add a little tin [1 to 1 1/2 %] for good fillout.
