Good evening,

Every time I buy another antique gun, I have to ask around for a proper bullet/case drawing (needless to say, identification in some cases). Is there a place I could possibly buy all those drawings in computer or paper format?

What would it be called - a 'Kynoch catalogue' or something else?

Thx!:coffee:

you might try contacting KYnoch USA, they may have some info on the original cartridge specifications

You'd be better speaking to David Little at Kynamco direct, here's the link to their website.

David Little bought the Kynoch name from ICI and produces the modern range of fine Kynoch ammunition.

He has chapter and verse on the cartidges they produce which are listed on his web site along with muzzle energy, velocity and bullet used.

I've popped a few .600" Nitro Express on his indoor range.

Coincidentally, I emailed Kynamco just before posting here, have yet to hear from them. Thanks for indicating I was on the right track! :-D

Might want to make these a sticky in the gunsmithing and reloading sections.

Andrew375,

thanks for the links. I am oging to print these and put them on the shelf with the donnelly book for reference. Now can you translate all of the pages on that site for us english only speakers? Just kidding but that is definitely not the english I know.

Has anyone ever subscribed to AmmoGuide? It costs almost $20 a year and so far I've been hesitant to sign up. It looks like it might supplement the C.I.P. info posted by Andrew.

I'm going to have to bone up on my metric conversions to use that data. Lengths aren't too bad. Pressures are something else. The only time I have ever used bar as a measure of pressure was with levels of vacuum (millibars) and I wasn't the one specifying so my familiarity is marginal at best.

Andrew,
I knew about those and might even have them somewhere in the corner of the hard drive, but they don't provide detailed bullet design, unfortunately. The Kynoch drawings do.
Thanks for reminding me of these, they and the pressure listings are a must read for every reloader.
Regards!
