Has anyone tried the Berry's 7.62x39 plated heads????
They are suppose to be .311.
Cheap.
Would be perfect for the 7.65 ARG I'm loading for a friend.

Have not tried that bullet but lately I bought some of their 110 grain bullets for .30 Carbine. Berry's advertisement about these bullets claimed they were good up to a speed of 2,000 fps. However, when the box containing the bullets arrived it stated "maximum velocity 1,750 fps." Well, who do you believe? Going to try them at standard velocity (somewhere around 1950 fps) just to see if they deliver groups or patterns. After all I only want them to give minute of coyote accuracy out to 50 yards or so. If these don't hold up (this was a small "sample" purchase) my next order will be for the Speer FMJ bullet. Yes, this is blasphemy on this website, but I stay away from gumming up the gas system on my Carbine at every opportunity.

Berry's 7.62 x 39 123 grain plated (0.311). My 1909 Argentine Mauser likes them. I run them at about 1800 fps and they do just fine.

Berry's works, just keep them under the fps ceiling and you'll do fine. There .223 jacketed leads are great too. Enjoy.

Tinman the Lyman 311410 has always worked well in my carbine. And without having to add a gas check they are cheap to load.

I think it’s regional vernacular for “bullet”.

What is your term for the head of a cartridge case...the butt ?
If so that means you would check a rifle's "buttspace" with a "buttspace gauge " ?

I Like It !

I always poke my cartridges in the butt to get the head to fly off. :)

I think it’s regional vernacular for “bullet”.Figuring out the "region" is the hard part.
Around here the head is where the head stamp is. We call bullets, well, bullets.....but we call cartridges "shells" and " bullets"
I thought it was a yankee thang.

It's a local thing.
With all the new "black gun" shooters here, if you call them bullets, they think it's the whole cartridge.
They get all mad if you correct them.
So we just call them heads.
