I have a ruger old army and conversion cylinder, 2 1858 remy copy's and a Magnum research BFR 45-70 i reload for and BP. I just started reloading 45 colt cartridges with BP for the conversion cylinder.
I bought a lot of bullets from a guy on the cheap for the BFR, they were .459.
I just talked to him and he said he has some.452 left really cheap. Can i use these bullets in any of the above guns and which one should i buy or both?
thanks

Get some pin gauges and measure the cylinder throats.

Your 1858 will probably run on 0.452" bullets, no in the BFR.

Yes i know the bfr is .459. I am going to pass as these are hard cast and not pure lead for BP
