Mike, Google is a pretty simple, accommodating resource. Just type in, "year of manufacturer, 99 savage", and it will give you a list of several wbsites that will give you what you seek. Just treat Google as you would another person, just ask the questions in plain English.

Mike,
For Savage 99's made prior to 1951, (serial numbers through 566,000), go to this page:
http://www.savage99.com/savage99_dates.htm
Yours however, was made after 1951, so I don't know where you would get the exact year for that - Sorry!
I currently have 2 model 99's. One is chambered in 250-3000 and was manufactured in 1950. The other is chambered in 303 Savage and was manufactured in 1914.
Good luck with your search!!:drinks:

Really nice 99's in some calibers seem to be hard to find. I was at a dealer's recently, and he proudly showed me a very clean 250-3000, and then handed it to me to look at. It had the older curved buttplate, and when I shouldered it I could tell right away that the stock had been shortened a bit. I mentioned that to him, and you should have seen his face drop. But, he got out a tape measure, and it was just 13". Whoever had done the job had done it very well, and matched that curved buttplate, but I'm pretty sure the dealer wished he had seen that when he bought it. Good luck with your 308. I carried a 99 featherweight in 308 when I worked in a game preserve, and shot Russian Boar, and deer with it. Worked great for me, and I wish I still had that gun!
