This spring while seeking a .221 Fireball, a Howa mini action .222 came home with me. I have been playing around with a NOE 225-46-WFN mold I use with my .22 Hornet. However those WFN boolits do not feed at all in my mini action!

I wish there was a way to re-contour the nose flat on these but in reality I just need to cast a different profile boolit.

So, what are other .222 shooters using that feeds well with good accuracy potential at low to moderate velocity? It would be very nice if they were light/short enough to work in the Hornet too.

My CZ 527 Hornet has a 1:16 twist .223 bore barrel and the Mini action .222 has a 1:14 twist .224 bore barrel.

If you have an experience based suggestion, I would love to hear it.

Thanks in advance to any and all responders!

I would suggest a Lyman 225415 if you want a meplat and the 225438 if you do not. The 415 will not stabilize at low speed in a 1-16 twist. The 438 will.

Yes, I'd definitely try the 225438.
