Powder Valley is having a special on this powder. Never used it much before because it just never seemed really outstanding for anything - however.........it's not bad in medium sized cases.

Times being what they are, it's worth a look at this price. :-D

I have used it some in 223 it was ok. It looks as if it would be a good powder for the 22-250 with lighter bullets too.

great powder in the 4570

Would it work in other straight cases such as .38-55 or .375 Win?

What powders have you used so far that you like in those calibers? ... felix

Burning rate of about IMR 4064 with the usual ball powder characteristic that it cannot be downloaded very well, must use at near full power level.

All I've used so far is 4198 per Hodgdon's recommendation. That was with a GB mold from awhile back. I loaded down because the GB boolet is heavier than the Hodgdon chart uses. Can't say it was particularly accurate but I didn't put a lot of time into developing a load. The chart of powders indicates that 2420 is somewhat slower than 4198. My question was in response to Lloyd's post about its suitability in 45-70. Scrounger's post about using at full power may eliminate it for me since I don't usually use maximum loads.

I wouldn't call it a great cast bullet powder, it needs a full case and decent pressure to work well.

It shines in heavy 223's(62+) and 308's(165+) with jacketed bullets.

Yep, it's a long way south (in your application) of 4198. ... felix

AA2520 works real well in the 303 brit. I haven't used it a great deal, but I have shot a few of Dad's 303 loads and was pleased.

Best wishes from the Boer Ranch,

Joe

Hope it works well in the 7.62x54R. Came across a good deal on Boxer brass for the Russki's a while back and bought a few hundred cases. Most of my experience has been with 3031 and 4350 in 30-30 to 270 reloading. Now I'm using WC846 for a lot of rifle reloading, so I'm hoping this 2520 will be a bit bulkier and less position sensitive.

2520 has worked well for me in the 375 JDJ Contender.

How does 2520 compare to 2460 for use in mid size cases? It looks like they will both be OK in my M1 and M1A with FLGCs. But how have the worked with cast?
