been wanting to visit the place for awhile and finally made it there on friday. not what I expected and kind of hidden down a dirt road, no signage at all. the staff were super friendly and very busy, took my order for black powder (picking it up for the local boy scout troop) and brought it to the tailgate of my car. picked up some free swag and powder recipes. not a tourist destination by any means but you can skip the hazmat charges by picking it up.

Wish I was close enough to do that! They are my preferred vendor for primers and powder.

They used to have a range out back.

How big was the customer area or was it just a sales counter and not much else?

It's been several years, but I've picked up from them to avoid Hazmat as well. You're right, good people running a good business.

they are not really set up for walkin customers, just a big room with the customer service ladies.

My boys order their powder from them. I just go to the LGS. I haven't bought any powder in a while...

I live in Salina and have stopped there twice to pick up larger orders for me and a friend. It isn't the easiest place to find, that is for certain. People were helpful and friendly, not set up like a store. One time I got to go back into the storage area and it kind of blows your mind seeing all the powder, bullets and other supplies.

I use to go when it was outside of Dexter Ks and had a chance to "shoot out back" after they moved outside of Winfield I would drop by while I was at the Walnut Valley Festival but haven't been to their range. Don't shoot as much as I use too and the festival has become so big it's a mess so I don't go, so it's not cost effective for me to go. If you go you should pre order and let them know when you plan on pick up. Alway great people to deal with.

They are remote for a reason, explosives. Low profile remote area is your friend if you sell things that go boom when connected with fire. No hassel with your neighbors if they aren't too close. The powder in the wrong hands could cause a lot of death and destruction.

Powder Valley is a good company to do business with. They are my "go to" for powder and primers. The last time that I ordered from them they got my order wrong. A really nice lady named, I think Barbara, resolved the issue quickly and efficiently. Everyone makes mistakes but the way that you deal with them say a lot!

Me too! Must have been a new packer who didn't know how many primers in a case. They covered their mistake. I've placed many orders with them.
