Looks like a good bullet profile and weight for mid-range game, but I can't seem to find any load data. anyone else have data on them?

Might be to much of a point on it they will zip right through. Cast bullets kill differently than jacketed expanding bullets. With larger calibers like .45 your best bet is probably to get something with a flat nose. If they are almost 1/2" to start with they dont need to expand just cut, a flat nose will give you more damage without the need to expand.

Lyman #460390, might do a bit better if you are planning on buying the bullets, one bullet down on that list from the 21A

a strong second to the recommendation of Jon's 460390 for hunting,or alternatively his NEI 45-410 .. Onceabull

I picked up this mould and have tried it in a few of my 45 cal rifles. It shoots fine and carries a lot of lube in its one big groove. I have not tried it on game but would need to be cast very soft to be any good. My favourite game moulds are the CBE 458-405GC, the group buy 462-420GC and the plain base CBE 458-420 FN. They all kill well. This is the plain base CBE bullet cast a soft 40:1 out of my Sharps at 1240 fps after encountering a small deer.

I would prefer the RCBS 45-300-FN, 45-325-FN-U, or 45-405-FN+ bullets. All are proven designs with a great deal of load data published for them.

For whitetails the 300-FN is plenty of bullet at 315-320 grains nominal weight and the 325-FN-U is 340-345 grains nominal wieght if you prefer the plain base.

These are available from many cast bullet makers including The Bullshop (bottom of the page).

Have fun,
