I have been kicking the idea of casting some of my own bullets for SASS. Right now I just buy them. Every time I look at a mould that somone has for sale they have at least 6 numbers and I can't make heads or tails out of what they mean. Is there someplace that I can go to see what they mean. Pictures are worth a millon words. What I'm looking for is 38's and 32's.

Thanks for the help.

At least that is how it is with Lee.
Read, read, read. The more you ask, the more you learn what to ask.
This is the right place. There are some extremely knowlegeable folks here.
Read, ask, read, ask.
Alloys, casting diamter, design, sizing.
You will love it.
I do.

Deacon,

Just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on "Castpics". In the sidebar, click on "Moulds" and maybe start with the Lyman moulds.

Your 38 and 32 moulds will all have numbers 357xxx or 358xxx for the 38s and 314xxx to 323xxx or similar for the 32s.

I'm not saying Lyman is the mould for you, but the 6 number system used by Lyman should become a little less vague to you after perusal of the Lyman pages. The other mould pages are also extremely interesting and informative although some are mostly archival in nature.

Good luck and keep the questions coming,

Vic
