having to fly with a backpack had nothing to do with its death, it was all lead fragments that it ate, yah right.

There is plenty of research that bunks that theory. Funny part is it is from California. Lead has to be in a soluable state. California band lead bullets for the condors. Condora kept dying for years and come to find out it was the lead paint on the water towers where they nest and not gut piles.

Lead bullets are still band because no one wants to admitt they were wrong

Funny part of it all was the end that the bird was doing it normal thing for food. for to say this "This bird died right in the period we'd expect them to be wandering widely and searching for food," is that what they normal do to live. Also it is from MSN it tells alot there also.

If you tell a lie long and loud enough people will eventually believe it.

there is an enormous difference between Lead and "Bio- Available Lead" and the environmentalists never seem to get that.

"Their numbers in the contiguous 48 U.S. states are steady but not as high as they could be, partly due to collisions with vehicles and wind turbines."

Sounds like we need to ban cars and wind turbines.

Yes, it is true that eagles soar.

But, weasels never get sucked into intakes or eat lead paint chips.

Been living in north central Kansas about 25 years now, came here from Anchorage. Funny, right from get go, we saw hundreds more bald eagles in Kansas than in Alaska, they are all over the place in the coves of the rocky lake we lived by. Besides them, there are a lot more of all kinds of raptors here than anywhere else I've ever lived.

There are also a lot more hunters here than most places, particularly upland bird hunters who no doubt leave a lot of lead shot in cripples and unfound birds. Somehow, lead poisoning has never been raised as an issue here for birds of prey.

I have frequently visited an area with 70+ wind turbines, known for its eagle population,
and personally inspected the ground underneath them many times,
and have not found *any* dead birds or bats there, much less any dead eagles.

The "wind mills kill birds and bats" is pure liberal propaganda.

And you know it had to be global warming that did it. Most likely melted snow, so that lead from past decades of hunting was uncovered. Oh the horror we are all doomed in just 12 years if we don't give up everything. I have a better idea if all liberals would stop eating and breathing then the rest of us could have 24 years.

That's the end of my cast bullets and cup and core bullets! I will start today and throw everything away so tomorrow I can buy all new "green' bullets, call me X man.

I did find a dead coyote under one. How it managed to get up to the blades to get killed has puzzled me ever since.

Liberals are NOT going to point out wind mills killing animals. They love alternative energy, so I don't see how they would be the ones to try and curtail it's use. It's like saying "everyone should be armed" is liberal propaganda.

Did the article actually say what killed the bird? The account I read just said it had lead in it's stomach.

Truth is we are awash in golden and bald eagles around here. I'd be glad if they opened up a season on them. We try to get game birds established on our ranch and no dice. We watch them attack and kill winter weakened deer.

Regardless, the whole gutpile thing strikes me as so much nonsense.

Can anyone cite studies putting some light on that subject?

Dogs and cats will spit out small pills wrapped in just about anything (baloney, peanut butter and bacon did not work with any of my pets). I've seen chickens, squirrels and ducks spit out bits gravel and stones no bigger than the head of a pin while they eat. I imagine eagles are smart enough to do the same thing with lead pellets. Seeds will pass through a bird's digestive tract so quickly and with so little damage they can still sprout, why would bird shot be any different?

Nope. NIMBY.
You must live in an area without a lot of windmills or proposals for installing windmills.

The libs are against solar farms also, they are supposedly "unsightly" and confuse the migrating birds/butterflys/chupacabra
when they are trying to navigate.

They are all for electric cars, and giving away free electricity to charge electric cars, but against every way to make electricity.
All emotion, 0% logic, an excuse for everything. bat **** crazy.
